Tickets

Each graduate is allotted four (4) tickets to Commencement. S/he will pick up the tickets and should pass them to family and friends before the ceremony. With the exception of those with disabilities, all Commencement guests will be seated in the General section. A ticket allows admittance to Killian Court, but within the Court, seats are unassigned…the earlier you arrive, the more choice you have as to where to sit. Please remember to take your ticket with you if you decide to leave the Court at any time. You must have a ticket to be readmitted.

Tickets are required for all those over the age of three (3). Babies and children under three years old do not need tickets.

Sharing tickets

Students who do not need all four (4) of their tickets are invited to share with others by sending a message to reuse-tickets@mit.edu. Any degree candidate in need of extra Commencement tickets may join the Mailman list administered by the senior class council to receive notifications of tickets made available by other graduating students.

While the Institute encourages students to share unneeded tickets, graduates and guests are advised that no tickets to Commencement at MIT may be bought or sold under any circumstances.

If you find on Commencement Day that you have extra tickets, you may give them to a Guest Services volunteer (these are the people in the red vests) or turn them in at the information tent so they can be redistributed. Thank you.
