Reporting for Commencement

Important information for when to be where on Commencement day. More.

Commencement: June 5, 2015

Each graduate to be awarded a degree at the Commencement Exercises is allotted four(4) guest tickets. No additional tickets are available. An admission ticket is required for each guest in the seating area, including children three (3) years of age or older.

While the Institute encourages students to share unneeded tickets, graduates and guests are advised that no tickets to Commencement at MIT may be bought or sold under any circumstances.

Ticket pick-up hours and location

Tickets to the Exercises will be issued to degree recipients upon presentation of a regalia rental or purchase receipt along with a MIT or other photograph identification card. If you already own or are borrowing regalia, please bring a photo of yourself in the regalia you intend to wear (an image in your phone is fine).

ROTC candidates wear the dress uniforms for their branches of the Service, rather than academic regalia, so a regalia receipt is not needed. Instead, please bring a photo of yourself in your dress uniform. Thank you.

Students must pick up their own tickets, in person, with their own IDs. If you are traveling, please do not worry about your tickets: they will not be given away.

Commencement tickets (including those for the Disabilities section) will be distributed at Copy Tech, in the basement of Building 11 up until the night before Commencement. Hours will be posted in the spring.

Picking up tickets on Commencement Day

On the morning of June 5 only, a family member bearing a government-issued ID may pick up tickets at the Commencement Information Booth in Lobby 7, starting at 6:30 am.
