Animals helping people

Pawprints is Boston Children's Hospital therapy dog visitation program which provides hospitalized children and their families a healthy diversion from the usual hospital routine and an opportunity for social interaction.

NEADS trains a wide range of assistance dogs to meet the needs of people with a variety of disabilities or hearing loss.

Almost all of the dogs that NEADS trains to be hearing dogs are acquired from animal shelters and rescue groups throughout New England. NEADS seeks high-energy dogs who are alert, attentive, and engaged; those that need a way to channel their exuberance productively. Trainers routinely visit area shelters to find dogs that are alert to noises, and also have a keen ability to localize sounds.
