Animals helping people

Pawprints is Boston Children's Hospital therapy dog visitation program which provides hospitalized children and their families a healthy diversion from the usual hospital routine and an opportunity for social interaction.

NEADS trains a wide range of assistance dogs to meet the needs of people with a variety of disabilities. Their Canines for Combat Veterans program provides assistance dogs to veterans at no cost. The Boston Marathon Bombing Survivors' Fund allowed NEADS to cover the cost of providing assistance dogs to victims in the wake of the bombings.

Almost all of the dogs that NEADS trains to be hearing dogs are acquired from animal shelters and rescue groups throughout New England. Dogs can help aid with balance when walking, retrieve and carry objects, press buttons, open doors, toggle lights, and much more!
