MIT Concourse - Leadership Committee

Leyatt Betre

"I'm a '16 currently majoring in physics, though I hope to double-major across physics and political science. I admit to having some fairly controversial traits and leanings, including but not limited to the following: I make lame puns like it's my job; I think that Star Trek is infinitely cooler than Star Wars, and that reality television might be the second or third best thing ever invented by humans."

Mary Delaney

I am a course 10b freshman from Winchester, MA. I enjoy playing tennis, tutoring, and participating in community service. This year, I will be serving as the treasurer for Concourse

Abdi Dirie

Abdi is a student in Course 6 here at MIT. Some things Abdi likes: cycling, books by H.G. Wells, artificial intelligence, choral music, independent films, and 3rd person. Some things Abdi does not like: internet censorship, slacktivism, public restrooms, Fox News, jumping to conclusions, and onions. Finally, if you can make Abdi laugh, Abdi will love you. As it turns out, Abdi loves a lot of people.

Emily Kellison-Linn

Emily is a sophomore majoring in computer science (Course 6-3). She chose to join Concourse to try to maintain some balance within the high-speed, science-focused environment that is MIT, and is so happy with the friends she's met here in the program. Her favorite part of Concourse is the community, and the blackboards in the lounge that get covered in everything from calculus to philosophical arguments.

Jack Feng

Jiacheng "Jack" Feng is a member of the Class of 2016 heralding from San Juan, Puerto Rico. He plans to study Mathematics, while double dipping in some Economic Theories Courses on the side. As one part of the two Facilities Chairs, JackÕs goal is for the Concourse Lounge to be more habitable and comfortable, such that it may be regarded as a sanctuary for all the Concourse members. Through the realization of this mission, Jack hopes to further unite the Concourse bunch as a whole by providing a Room of Their Own so that they could discuss brilliant ideas, extraordinary conversation or just share a great time. While he is not embroiled in his work or activities, Jack can be found playing League of Legends or thinking about radical ideas.

Erika Trent

As Committee VP, I assist the President and Committee in expanding the Concourse program four dimensionally - socially, academically, philosophically, and gastronomically. Hobbies include fiddling, attempting to bake, and contemplating the meaning of 42 :)

Jason Tong

"How many Concourserites does it take to change a lightbulb? None. (I mean, we're at MIT, guys. Though in practice, I probably have better ways to use that BS I'll be getting in 6-2.) So why do we have two facilities chairs? 1. It helps with the unemployment rate. 2. It means we have an extra pair of legs to run for those treasures on Re-use (where one human's trash may be picked up by another human who considers it treasure). Within a month, we have already refitted the lounge with Some Wicked Awesome Gizmos like an electro-acoustic transducer (to party it up while we p-set), just to name an example. I like Concourse."

Alice Wen

Alice (Xueyin) Wen is a freshman who is majoring in course 9 and 18. She is one of the current publicity chairs. She joined concourse because she finds philosophy and exploration of the human condition fascinating. When not reading or studying, she enjoys watching movies, playing Mario Kart, and singing really poorly. A native Oregonian, she likes riding bikes, hiking, thrift-shopping, and avoiding the rain.
