Because you will be much more familiar with your fellow students than would be the case in mainstream, there is an important informal social aspect of the Concourse Program that we emphasize and encourage. These are special activities in which you may participate individually or in groups. Every year, we hold various social events: some of them are traditions; others depend on the enthusiasm and the suggestions of students and staff.

In the past, these have taken the form of study breakfasts, dinners or parties, clambakes, and just about any other activity which students or faculty may suggest. These are optional activities. The "physics breakfasts" and "chemistry breakfasts" for which Concourse has become infamous began in this way. The Concourse administration is extremely receptive to any student ideas that will foster community and also allow all members of Concourse to enjoy a good break from studying and just hang out with each other.
