On-Campus Housing Request Deadline: THREE WEEKS before requested arrival
Requests and Deadlines
On-campus housing may only be requested by participants who have enrolled in and paid for an MIT Professional Education - Short Programs course. All applications for housing must be made at least three weeks in advance of the requested arrival date. Housing requests cannot be processed on-site. Please visit the Professional Education - Short Programs site to see the courses being offered. Please note: We urge you to make your reservations early; rooms are booked on a space-available basis.
Housing request forms are processed in the order in which they are received. All changes must be submitted in writing.
Payment is due at the time of application and may be made via credit card (MasterCard, Visa, American Express, or Discover); or check in US dollars, drawn on a US bank.
Prior to arrival, guests will receive a written confirmation of accommodations including the address, telephone number, and location of their residence hall assignment. The confirmation must be presented to the desk staff upon arrival, along with a valid ID. For security reasons, MIT retains the right to refuse entry to guests without proper documentation and identification.

About the Residence Halls
Each Guest will be required to have their photo taken by front desk security upon check-in, and the image will be linked to the guest's access card. Security staff will use the image to verify registered guests each time the building is entered.
Visitors will be placed in traditional non-air conditioned residence halls with shared bathroom facilities on each floor. All room types are furnished with twin-size (single) bed, a desk and chair, and a closet. Guests are provided with sheets, a blanket, a pillow, and towels. Toiletries are not provided. Rooms are serviced prior to arrival.
There are common lounge areas in each residence hall for informal gathering; refrigerators are located in some of these areas for communal use. Vending machines and coin-operated laundry machines are located on the lower level. Telephones are available in the hallways for emergencies and local calls. All buildings have both wireless and wire internet access available at no charge. Guests must provide own Ethernet cord and computer.
Check-in time for all residence halls begins at 3:00 PM. Departing guests must check out at the front dest by 11:00 AM. Front desk staff can arrange to hold luggage for a short time after check-out on the date of departure.
On-campus parking spaces are limited and available only to confirmed MIT housing guests as a package coinciding with the dates of stay. The fee for on-campus parking is $23.00 a day and is non-refundable. Parking reservations must be made in advance and paid upon reservation. A parking permit indicating the assigned campus lot will be provided upon check-in at the residence hall.
MIT assumes no responsibility for loss of, or damage to, personal property, including, but not limited to, loss by fire, theft, water, or malfunction of electrical and mechanical systems. We recommend that you secure valuables and lock doors and windows when your room is unoccupied.
Smoking, Alcohol, and Drugs
Smoking, alcohol, and drugs are prohibitied in all MIT residence halls.

Each guest will be charged a non-refundable $8.50 fee for a temporary access card, which is required for access to the dormitories.
On-Campus Housing: All cancellations of on-campus housing must be sent in writing (via fax or email) to the MIT Conference Services Office. Written cancellations received on or before June 15, 2015 will receive a full refund (excluding any parking and access card fees). After that, refunds will be made less a penalty equivalent to the cost of one nights stay; provided the cancellation is received no later than 24 hours prior to the scheduled date of arrival. No refunds (full or partial) will be granted for cancellations received within 24 hours of the scheduled arrival date or thereafter, nor for any nights the dormitory room is not occupied during a reservation period.
Access Card: Once
paid, the one-time fee for a temporary access card is non-refundable.
Parking: Once paid, parking fees are non-refundable.
