MIT Professional Education - Short Programs

On-Campus Housing Information
Please review this information and keep a copy for your reference.

Due to Covid-19, on-campus housing will not be available for summer 2020 courses.

Housing Requests and Deadlines
On-campus housing may only be requested by participants who have enrolled in and paid for an MIT Professional Education - Short Programs course. Housing is only available between the nights of June 7 and August 8. All requests for housing must be made at least three weeks in advance of the requested arrival date. Requests will not be accepted after 11:59PM (EDT) on July 17. Rooms are booked on a space-available basis and may sell out early. Requested arrival and departure dates must coincide with the dates of your Short Programs course. Due to limited availability, you may only request one or two additional nights of stay immediately preceding and immediately following the course dates to facilitate travel. Longer stays will not be confirmed.

Payment
Full payment by credit card (MasterCard, Visa, American Express, or Discover) is required upon submission of request form.

Confirmation
Submission of a request does not reserve a room nor does it guarantee that a reservation will be held for you. Accommodations will be confirmed by email upon review of request. You will be notified as soon as possible if your request cannot be accommodated, and payments will be refunded in full. Guests will receive an email confirmation of accommodations including the name and address of their residence hall assignment approximately one week prior to arrival. The confirmation must be presented to the desk staff upon arrival, along with a valid ID. For security reasons, MIT retains the right to refuse entry to guests without proper documentation and identification.

Personal Property

MIT assumes no responsibility for loss of, or damage to, personal property, including, but not limited to, loss by fire, theft, water, or malfunction of electrical and mechanical systems. We recommend that you secure valuables, and lock your doors and windows when your room is unoccupied.

Housing Policies
Smoking, alcohol, and drugs are prohibited in all MIT residence halls. For information on housing policies, please visit this link.

Change Policies
All changes must be submitted in writing to conferences-www@mit.edu at least two weeks prior to the requested arrival date. Housing changes cannot be processed on-site.

Cancellation Policies
On-Campus Housing: All cancellations of on-campus housing must be sent via email to conferences-www@mit.edu. Written cancellations received one week before your arrival will receive a full refund (excluding any parking and access key card fees). After that, refunds will be made less a penalty equivalent to the cost of one night’s stay; provided the cancellation is received no later than 24 hours prior to the scheduled date of arrival. No refunds (full or partial) will be granted for cancellations received within 24 hours of the scheduled arrival date or thereafter, nor for any nights the residence hall room is not occupied during a reservation period.

Access Key Card: Once paid, the one-time fee for a temporary access key card is non-refundable.

Parking:
Once paid, parking fees are non-refundable.
