Placing Poles and Zeroes (pt1:
How?
)
If you have some variable (like a controller gain,

) in your transfer function, adjusting its value may affect the location of the poles:
...The fact that
G
is in the numerator doesn't affect zeros (there are none here), but the
G
in the denominator does affect the location of the poles.
Again, solving the roots:
For what values of
G
do the poles like on the Real axis?
(In other words, when would there be no imaginary part...)
For what values of
G
do some or all poles have POSITIVE REAL parts?
(Can the poles have non-zero imaginary parts if this is the case?)
