The Good Woman of Szechuan
Wu Wei Theater of Frankfurt

"Great triumphant...Bertolt Brecht, we can be sure, would have loved this performance."

Main-Echo

A man and woman and one simple table. From these two players and sparse set emerge two dozen characters and startlingly vivid scenes. Such is the power of suggestion created by these theatrical virtuosos from Frankfurt, Germany, in the first U.S. tour of their ingenious interpretation of Bertolt Brecht. The performers speak German, but don't worry about translation. A pre-performance talk illuminates the plot so you can easily follow. Plus&emdash;in true Brechtian fashion&emdash; an English- and a Chinese-speaking serve as mediators between the action on stage and the audience.
