Hi RAF (Royal Air Force?)
The project is being sponsored by Amnesty International USA. It is to focus
on
the genocide, what caused the genocide in Rwanda, what obligations and
responsibilities were undertaken or not undertaken by the international
community, what actions were taken by various parties to deal with the
genocide, and what are the consequences. What is happening now, who is doing
what about the aftermath, what are its implications for other countries,
esp.
African countries, esp Burundi. Above all I hope it will show how the
genocide
constituted a monstrous crime whose guilt touched not only the direct
actors,
but many others who refused to take action to stop it...and point to the
need
to continue our pressure today for people and states to fulfill their
obligations to UN Convention on Human Rights and on Genocide. The
cinematographer for the film is Kathy Austin of Institute of Policy Studies
in D.C. She has shot some footage in Rwanda and Zaire, is back there now,
and
will return again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
