Friends: As part of pre-production research for media projects on current
and
historical relations between Liberia, her West African neighbors, EU and
USA,
I would greatly appreciate receiving any information on directors,
distributors
and/or international archives of films/video on or by Liberians. All aspects
of cultural life, especially historical footage on various Liberian ethnic
groups
and related peoples in Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Cote d'Ivoire.

Does anyone know of any theatrical films (any language) set in West Africa
that have plots or sub-plots dealing with contemporary inter-ethnic
relations,
civil war (Sierra Leone, Liberia), conflict resolution, refugee life, "child
soldiers" and "warlords"? Any historic or contemporary documentaries dealing
with same issues or subjects?
