Greetings from Planet Africa at the Toronto International Film Festival.

We're the part of the Festival devoted to films from Africa and the
African diaspora -- Cairo to Cape Town, Bamako to Brooklyn. Launched in
1995, Planet Africa has grown into a strong force promoting the best in
worldwide African film. We have been honoured to present the films of
such leading directors as Idrissa Ouedraogo, FUrid Boughedir, Louis
Massiah, Cheick Oumar Sissoko, Cheryl Dunye, Djibril Diop Mambety and
many others.

Last year we made the world premieres of Jean-Pierre Bekolo's
Aristotle's Plot, Tsitsi Dangarembga's Everyone's Child and Raymond
Rajaonarivelo's When the Stars Meet the Sea, as well as Clair Bourne's
John Henrik Clarke: A Great and Mighty Walk, Ngozi Onwurah's I Bring You
Frankincense and the theatrical premiere of John Akomfrah's The Last
Angel of History.

Now, we're looking for more. We're calling for the best new feature
films (and exceptional shorts) to premiere at the Toronto International
Film Festival, which runs September 4 to 13, 1997.

If you have (or know of) a film for Planet Africa that will be completed
before August 12, 1997, contact us by fax, phone or email. Final version
of the film must be on 35mm or 16mm.

Peace,
Cameron Bailey
