The Tuscan Atrium was part of the House of the Faun from the first phase of the house, however, it was radically renovated at the end of the 2nd century BC. During this time the statue of the dancing faun was created in Alexandria. This statue is located in the main impluvium, and it is from this that the house gets its name.
The thresholds and impluvium of Tuscan Atrium are travertine, and to arrive at here from the street, one should go through the main entrance and through the corridor, and the atrium is the first room. The faun statue that is now in the house is a replica, as the original is in the Museum Archeologico Nazionale at Naples.
