Mass Transit is set in New York City on a balmy Saturday afternoon in June of 1996. The story's seven characters are each having an interesting day for one reason or another, and at times their paths cross.

To navigate, choose a character from the map legend, and click on a section of that character's path, as it wends its way across the map. Squares indicate starting points. Circles with colored centers indicate each character's next move. The pink arrow tells you that "You are here."

By clicking on the map's clock you can see a schedule-like listing of the characters' activity at any given time. This clock-grid will also show you where you've already been in the story.

A set of short profiles is available via clicking on the characters listed in the map legend.

A technical note: If you click something and nothing happens, or odd things happen, do a Reload in Netscape. Like a pat on the back, it usually gets things flowing again.

To return to this preface at any time, click on the title words: "Mass Transit".
