The Structure of the Formulaic Highschool Homepage
Why all highschool homepages are the same
It's become a well known phenomenon with American students that a few years after one leaves,
one's highschool puts up a webpage of such embarrassing awfulness that one is ashamed
to own up to having gone there. This situation is ameliorated slightly by the fact that
this has happened to almost everyone else, and by the fact that nobody ever reads them,
since they are all the same.
Given that they are almost universally completely devoid of useful information,
it would seem natural to conclude that they are mean as artwork, or to tell a
story about the school.
