Miranda says: Hi! Thank you for taking the time to interview with us at NetMonger Technologies! I'd like to run this interview as sort of a dialogue, where we can discuss your qualifications and I can tell you a little about the company and the job we're trying to fill. To start, what is your name?
You say: my name is michael
Miranda says: Well, michael, why don't you tell me about your most recent work experience?
You say: this summer, i worked for data general
Miranda says: Please tell me about one of your summer jobs.
You say: i worked on a new computer system.
Miranda says: I like computers. Do you like computers?
You say: yes, especially computer networks
Miranda says: I like computers. Do you like computers?
You say: that failed.
Miranda says: What was the most interesting course you've taken?
You say: i enjoyed 6.033 most.
Miranda says: I've heard about that course! What did you do in it?
You say: we learned how to design good systems and networks.
Miranda says: Our company is intimately tied to the Internet. Where do you see the Internet in a few years?
You say: i imagine it'll grow and there will be lots of opportunities.
Miranda says: What was your most fulfilling project?
You say: last term, i wrote a compiler for a class.
Miranda says: That sounds very exciting! Please go on!
You say: the program was written in java, to compile a java-like language.
Miranda says: Do you often use java, to compile a java-like language?
You say: no, just for that class.
Miranda says: We use Java and C++, mostly. What have you written using these languages?
You say: besides the compiler, i wrote a game.
Miranda says: We feel that even if you don't know C++ or Java, you could probably be trained. Would you like that?
You say: sure, for example, i don't know corba.
Miranda says: We are a small software company. What about this interests you?
You say: i'd like to learn more about leadership.
Miranda says: NetMonger is a small company, and there is plenty of room to assume a leadership position.
You say: i find that very exciting.
Miranda says: Would you like to gain more leadership experience?
You say: yes, but mostly where it pertains to engineering
Miranda says: What leadership experience do you have?
You say: for my job at raytheon, i was a project manager.
Miranda says: Did you feel as though your experience with leadership suited you well?
You say: i think so.
Miranda says: Why do you think so? What can I tell you about it?
You say: well, for one, what does netmonger do?
Miranda says: Most of our projects are web-based. Do you have any experience with Java?
You say: yes, lots.
Miranda says: What do you think of us so far?
You say: mostly i want to know what your company does.
Miranda says: We offer very competitive salaries.
You say: what about stock?
Miranda says: We offer stock options to all our employees. It's our feeling that all our employees should benefit from our success!
You say: what else?
Miranda says: We offer salaries on par with those of other small, Silicon Valley companies.
You say: and benefits?
Miranda says: We have a very competitive benefits package, including Medical, Dental, and Vision plans.
You say: that sound great.

You say: what kind of work would i be doing?
Miranda says: What was the least interesting course you've taken?
You say: i hated 6.002
Miranda says: A lot of students don't really like those.
You say: so what do you do?
Miranda says: I do a lot of the interviewing for NetMonger, as well as some marketing. It's really a great job.
You say: do you like marketing?
Miranda says: What other companies are you considering?
You say: i have an offer from oracle.
Miranda says: What other offers are you considering?
You say: i am considering oracle's offer.
Miranda says: What other offers are you considering?
You say: oracle made me an offer
