Doorboards will experiment with multithreaded storylines. The user is spatially placed in a dormitory corridor, in which he/she will be able to move up and down. He will be able to look at decorations and murals on the walls of the dormitory. Most importantly, the user will be able to read writings on the whiteboards stuck on the doors.
Other threshold objects should be available. For instance, a group photo of members of the dorm may be a navigational guide for the users. Allowing the user to write messages would be interesting but programming it may be difficult. I intend to allow the boards to change over time, but the user should not be able to move backwards in time. It will also be interesting to allow writings to accumulate on each board, with periodic staggered 'erasings', as it normally happens with real whiteboards.
Other types of messages might also be interesting. Hall blackboards and Post-its can contain just as important messages, but they are likely to be far more temporal. I am aiming for the user to gain a clear idea of the character of each person, rather than struggling to deduce the sequence of events.
