Reg burst into the dining room, "Where is she then? Where is that little sister of mine?" Seeing
just Tom, he frowned, "Oh. Where is she?"
"No idea," Tom replied.
"Ah he's a laugh, you know?" Reg suddenly said.
"Who?" asked Tom.
"Norman," said Reg. "Makes we laugh. I don't care, I like him. She doesn't but
I do. Women don't you know. Not many women like him. Don't know why. Sarah can't
stand him. Won't have him in the house. Nor will his wife."
"I think Annie gets on all right with him." Tom offered.
"Ah well. Annie. She's something special," Reg said and smiled.
"They're a bit peculiar tonight." said Tom.
"Who are?" asked Reg.
"The women. All on edge for some reason." said Tom.
"Probably a full moon," said Reg with and smile, and he bayed like a hound.
"No. Not that." said Tom.
"Oh well," said Reg looking round. "Better go and see Mother in a minute. Just put the
cases away. Sarah is up there now. I'll wait till she comes down. Two of them, too
much of a good thing." said Reg.
"I think I've upset her," said Tom.
"Who?"
"Annie. You see she didn't want to go on holiday alone," explained Tom.
"Well who does," said Reg. Feeling a bit peckish, he opened up a box of
water biscuits.
"She was expecting me to offer to come too," said Tom.
"Oh. You should have been in there--like a shot, eh?" said Reg, examining his
water biscuit more closely.
