Tom entered the dining room laughing and carrying a bottle of homemade wine. Sarah did not appreciate this laughter, and fled the room, followed by Annie.

"What was the joke?" asked Reg.

"Nothing. Norman told me it would cheer things up. Doesn't seem to have worked." Tom replied a bit confused.

He offered the wine to Reg, "I brought a bottle of this. Managed to salvage it. Norman's drunk most of them. Mother made it last year. Tastes revolting but it's very potent."

Reg took the wine happily. Annie and Sarah finally returned, and they all sat down to dinner. From the living room, they could hear Norman occassionally burst into song, but they just tried to concentrate on their meal, and get through the end of the day.
