6a22 Assignment #1

Our next meeting will be 3:00 - 4:30 on Tuesday, September 12, 1995, in the Jackson Room, 38-466. Your assignment for this meeting: 1. Get familiar with one or more Web browser (Netscape, Mosaic, etc.) 2. Look up the home pages of all three of the instructors: Paul Penfield, Ed Moriarty, and Chris Falling. 3. Surf the Web to find: (1) the ugliest Web page (2) the set of pages that is best designed to fill its intended purpose (3) the page that is farthest away and bring to the meeting the URL of these three. If you want, you can also look for the three opposites, namely the most beautiful page, the set of pages that is worst designed, and the nearest page. 4. Look at enough other personal home pages so that you have an idea of what information, graphics, pictures, links, etc. you want on your own page. You might even sketch a layout of how you want the information organized and presented. Of course you can have several linked pages. I think today's meeting went really well. I enjoyed meeting you all and look forward to working with you during the coming year. It's going to be a lot of fun. ...../Paul
