Crime Prevention Unit
The primary responsibility for the programs and services of the Crime
Prevention Unit rests with Sergeant Cheryl Vossmer (crimbite@mit.edu),
617-253-9755. The goal of the Unit is to increase community awareness
about the risk of campus crime and victimization and to generate a
sense of responsibility within every individual to take reasonable
steps to reduce that risk.

Laptop registration and STOP tagging will be offered on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm in E17-121 Learning Center. Enter at 40 Ames Street. This loss prevention measure is a visible deterrent (6.3mb .WMV demonstration) for electronic devices. Once applied it takes 24 hours for the adhesive to cure then it takes up to 800 pounds of pressure to remove the tag. If removed, it leaves a tattoo stating stolen property. Please contact Sgt.
