MIT Center for Real Estate

Our graduates build the future

Real Deals

Long a mainstay at the MIT Center for Real Estate, the Real Deals series was established in the mid-1980s (originally called the Lunch Box Seminars) to provide a forum for students, researchers, and industry professionals to explore actual real estate transactions.

During the school term, the series presents an established industry professional who shares informally the details of a specific transaction, along with an insider's look at the dynamics behind it.

Since its inception, the series has hosted well over 100 developers, architects, contractors, brokers, lenders, and investors who have offered unique glimpses into memorable real estate deals.

Students have found the series to be an effective introduction to the day-to-day workings of real estate acquisition, development, construction, and finance. Professionals have found the series to be a valuable forum for networking, and for staying current on developments in the field.

If you are interested in presenting a "Real Deal," please contact Marion Cunningham at marionoc@mit.edu.
