I am a founder member of the Chilean team (http://www.wipchile.cl ) of the World Internet Project (WIP),

a worldwide research endeavor for the applied study of the interaction between knowledge-based practices and communication

technologies, including more than 30 countries and universities in America, Europe, Asia and Latin America. This research initiative

was started off by UCLA Center for Communication Policy, Management School at University of Bocconi in Milan, Italy and by the

School of Communication Studies at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. Currently, on the U.S. side this project is

headed by the newly created Center for the Digital Future at the USC Annenberg School of Communication.

The next WIP meeting will be in Santiago of Chile in July 2005.
