In this course, I learned how to use many machining tools on campus to create a flashlight from scratch. We created the flashlight in two parts: the battery holder with lathe threading and the bulb holder.
For this section, we took a piece of stock to create the diameters and chamfers at the end of it where the bulb holder would screw onto it using the lathe.
After finishing the end and drilling a hole into the stock, I then threaded the flashlight with the lathe.
I took another piece of stock and used the milling machine to make the exact cuts and threading I needed for this piece.
Once both components were finished, I screwed them together and then the flashlight turned on.
