The Cross Products began singing at MIT in the fall of 1988. The group was formed to communicate the good news of Jesus Christ to people through music, skits, and spoken word, and to complement the other a cappella groups in existence at MIT as a Christian alternative.

We call ourselves the "cross products" because as Christians we consider ourselves products of the cross of Jesus Christ. The term "cross product" also has another meaning - if you don't know what it is we'll let you look it up in a math book yourself. =)
