Who Should Apply

Any member of the MIT community or Cambridge-based organization where MIT volunteers are at work may apply for a CSF grant. There is no limit to the number of times an individual or organization may apply for or receive CSF grants.

When to Apply

The CSF Board of Directors meets to review grant applications and make funding decisions in March and October. The next scheduled meeting of the board is on December 12, 2007. Applications to be considered at this meeting must be received by November 30.

Deadline

Applications considered at the next meeting must be received by Friday, November 30, 2007.

How to Apply for a Grant

  1. Look at the application criteria section of this site to get an idea of what the board looks for in an application.
     
  2. Take a look at the application.

    Please note: You must send your application BOTH electronically AND in hard copy form. This helps to ensure that your application arrives at our office safely.

    Email paramore@mit.edu to have the application form emailed to you.
     
  3. Complete your application before the submission deadline. Applications to be considered for the December 2007 meeting must be received by November 30.
     
  4. Submit your application electronically. You can do this by submitting the online form or by emailing the form to paramore@mit.edu.
     
  5. Submit a hard copy of your application. Print a hard copy of your application and mail it to:

    Don't forget: You must send your application BOTH electronically AND in hard copy form.
     
  6. Wait for the next board meeting. Approximately three weeks after the meeting, we'll contact you to let you know whether you received a CSF grant and the amount of the grant. (Due to the volume of applications received, the board often authorizes grants for less than the amount requested in the application.) Shortly thereafter, your grant check will be mailed or your MIT account will be credited.
