Support the Home Team!
When you give to the Community Service Fund, you are making an investment in the MIT community. You are supporting your colleagues at the Institute who spend their time working for organizations they believe in. Your financial support provides these volunteers with necessary materials and covers expenses required for them to carry out their efforts.
CSF donors can see the effects of their contributions. Because the fund supports projects, organizations, and service learning activities in Cambridge and greater Boston, your donation is spent in neighborhoods where you work, live, or study.
Low Overhead
Very little of your contribution to CSF is spent on the fund's overhead
costs or operating expenses (less than 4% in fiscal year 2004). CSF
is administered by its trustees, who receive no compensation, and by
MIT's Office of Government and Community Relations, which is supported
by a separate account. The only expenses covered by CSF resources are
printing and mailing publications and the expenses of the two annual
board meetings.
