LCA Report on Pavement-Vehicle Interaction
April's LCA Research Profile Letter
Postdoctoral Research Associate PositionWe are seeking applications for a postdoctoral research associate position in the MIT Concrete Sustainability Hub. This position focuses on multiscale chemical and mechanical characterization of cementitious composite materials. These activities will include: (1) Designing new experiments to study the relationship among cement chemistry, calcium-silicate-hydrate composition, and mechanical properties; (2) Conducting and leading characterization and validation efforts using tools including scanning electron microscopy, macro and nanoscale mechanical testing such as nanoindentation, calorimetry, and X-ray chemical analysis of cements; (3) Play a lead role in the development and evolution of an experimental plan to support the simulation validation goals of the MIT Concrete Sustainability Hub and/or other cement industry sponsors; (4) Support the activities of the CSHub including written and oral updates to cement industry partners. Requirements include knowledge of cement chemistry and formulation, experience with analytical chemical and mechanical instrumentation including instrumented indentation, excellent written and oral communication skills, capacity to lead (under)graduate researchers, and the ability to collaborate both within and outside of MIT. Please send CV, one publication demonstrating research experience, and 2 letters of reference to CSHub@mit.edu. Applications received by Dec. 15, 2010 will be given priority. |
