Ki-Chan Kim accepts the Grand Award of the Korean Automobile Parts Industry from the Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Energy.
Ki-Chan Kim, professor and associate dean of student affairs at the Catholic University of Korea, received the Grand Award of the Korean Automobile Parts Industry on Dec. 23, 2003, at ceremonies in Seoul. The Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Energy (MOCIE) made the presentation, which honored Kim's work as chairman of the Parts Industry Commission, Korea Auto Forum.

Kim, a former MIT visiting scholar and an IMVP affiliate since the mid-1990s, is vice president of the Korean Academy of Commodity Science, a member of the Korea Association of Automobile Industry Steering Committee, president of the Korea Research Institute for Measurement and Assessment (KRIMA), chief editor of the Journal of Strategic Marketing, and a MOCIE researcher investigating a new auto industry growth engine project.

The Foundation of Korea Automotive Parts Industry Promotion, a public service organization supporting auto parts manufacturers, awarded the prize. Kim was nominated by Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association (KAMA).
