The International Motor Vehicle Program welcomes returning sponsors to the 22-year-old program including Toyota Motor Corporation, Honda Motor Car Company, and General Motors Corporation.

Nissan Motor Co. Ltd., which sponsored IMVP as part of the Japanese Auto Manufacturing Association (JAMA) in the 1990s, has joined leading automakers in supporting IMVP's Phase IV.

The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, a supporter of the IMVP since 1990, is now providing a two-year fellowship for research. The IMVP continues to have a strong relationship with the Sloan Foundation, building on its role as the foundation's first Industry Center.

Toyota Motor Corporation renewed its support of the International Motor Vehicle Program in February 2001. Toyota, whose innovative production model was the basis of the IMVP book, The Machine That Changed the World, has been a pivotal participant in IMVP research.
