I hope you'll give me more of your charity in forgiving my irresponsible correspondence habits than I've given you of my attention in keeping in touch witrh you during the past two years. I 'm now beginning to exercise one of my New Year's resolutions, to try to be a better correspondent.
Since my last circular letter, much has happened. I spent six months teaching at a private boys' preparatory school in Western Massachusetts, then a year doing employment counseling for one of the War on Poverty programs in Boston. Since last October, I have been working in the personnel department of a Boston-based life insurance company. It is is fascinating, gratifying, and stimulating work - uniquely rewarding in several senses.
Beginning next Sunday, I shall be working as a part-time assistant at a Boston parish, helping on Sundays with services and doing parish calling week-day nights. It's great to be returning to Ordered llife, even on a part-time basis.
Claudine is continuing studies towards her Master's in French Studies; Jessica has been enrolled at a bilingual school since September and is having a most stimulating time growing up.
May I add my tardy Christmass greetings to those you have already received, and wish you a New Year as filled with hope and joy as mine appears to be. Please write me to let me hear of your news.
