Christine is a 5th-year graduate student in the MIT-WHOI Joint Program (Marine Geology & Geophysics). Her current research focus is reconstructing spatio-temporal patterns of water balance changes in South America using lacustrine carbonate deposits from high-altitude lakes in Chile and Bolivia. For her undergraduate senior thesis, she studied the deformed paleoshorelines of Lake Bonneville.

Christopher is a 6th year graduate student in the MIT/WHOI Joint Program whose research focuses on using inorganic geochemistry to explore ocean chemistry and past climate changes. His current research includes reconstruction of dust accummulation rates in marine records from the east and west African margin using uranium and thorium isotopes, and development of stable barium isotopic measurements and applications to marine environmental samples.

Gabi is a 3rd year graduate student in the MIT/WHOI Joint Program. She is currently working on a project reconstructing past precipitation changes in the Yucatan using stalagmites. Her undergraduate thesis focused on Ba/Ca ratios in deep-sea corals.


François Tissot

François is an isotope geo/cosmochemist whose primary research interest spread from the evolution of the redox conditions in the Earth’s atmosphere and ocean, to the study of early solar system processes. In geochemistry, recent works include a detailed test of the U stable isotope paleoredox proxy against the modern ocean and the application of this proxy to Paleoproterozoic shales in the wake of the Great Oxidation Event.
