Elizabeth Reid Maruska SM '79:
Adventures on the Right Side of the Brain®
May 11, 1995 - June 15, 1995
Curated by Michelle Fiorenza
My art is a celebration of life and an invitation to adventures on the right side of the brain. The left brain (words, numbers, judgments) wants to control your brain's central processing unit. I invite you to enjoy your playful right brain: imagination, dreams, and creativity. Right brain adventures can release your own creativity and help you be more productive at work or at home.
I look at painting as an adventure. Take my hand and come along. Follow the brushstrokes with your eyes. Then close both eyes and imagine that you are in the painting -- sliding down the moon, rolling down the hills, and soaring through the wonderful spaces in-between the paint. Take a bath in the moon light, swim in the sea, climb the ribbons of color. Your dreams are coming true. Don't come back until morning.
