New England Landscapes: Interpretations in Pastel

paintings by Teresa McCue

March 20 - April 30, 1997

Curated by Michelle Fiorenza

As a landscape artist working in New England area I enjoy "the kid in a candy store" dilemma every day. this terrain, rich with texture and rhythm, provides a beautiful view at every turn; from majestic mountains and a roaring ocean to gently rolling hills, and serene lakes. New England trees, twisted from many years of our changeable climate, appear to be almost frozen in animation. Their forms are solid, year graceful. Our little corner of the world holds a plethora of visual images, and when one factors in the ever-changing light, the possibilities are infinite. This show is but a small sampling of the beauty that is New England.
