- Please visit this site for future updates.
The Principal Investigator (or a co-PI) of a project pursuing Ignition
or Innovation Grants must be a faculty member of MIT. However, partnerships
with collaborators outside
of MIT are encouraged. (Non-faculty
eligible to be principal investigators on grants are welcome to apply
as well.)
Ignition Grants are granted for up to $50,000. Innovation Grants
can be anywhere from $50,000 to $250,000, however, budgets are scrutinized
carefully. Entrepreneurial
frugality is encouraged and appreciated!
In the pre-proposal round, only a rough budget is necessary. A budget
using our budget template must accompany
the full proposal. Note that all budgets must include Institute
F&A.
- If you are applying for continuation of funding, please let us know by the pre-proposal deadline by following steps 1& 3 of the pre-proposal instructions. There is NO NEED to complete and upload the pre-proposal template if you are applying for continuation of funding, we just want the basic information!
- Please prepare a full proposal by following the full proposal instructions and take care to elaborate on your progress as indicated. More Information on renewals.
- Continuation of funding decisions are made based on progress.
