Deshpande Center Symposium held at the Student
Center

We cannot thank Liz enough for all the effort MIT Catering
put into making the Deshpande Center Idea Stream 2003 Symposium
such a great success. It is important to point out that your
staff was not only instrumental in catering the event, but
they were also helpful in assisting the attendees find their
way around! Needless to say, everyone went above and beyond
our expectations. Catering an event of this magnitude is never
an easy undertaking. Yet MIT Catering made it look easy. That
is unmistakably a sign of true pros! Please send a warm thank
you to everyone on your staff, especially Lindsey. He was simply
fantastic and a huge help on-site. We look forward to working
with all of you again.

Hi Ivy!!!! How are you??? I'm back from Hawaii two weeks
and finally getting to email you!!! I had such a blast!!
Everything was absolutely perfect!!! Everyone was really
nice and the food and everything was so nice. So many people
have told me the food and wine were fabulous!!!! I can't
thank you enough!!!

The reception on Monday afternoon, June 30, was wonderful.
Peter did his usual superb job, and Christine, the bartender
and the wait staff were efficient and attentive and professional
as always. The important thing was that Alex and Brit d'Arbeloff
enjoyed themselves! Thanks so much for your help on this.

Breakfast with the Stars meeting at the Faculty
Club

Today's Breakfast with the Stars went very well even though
we were oversubscribed. I especially wanted to thank the
woman (short with blonde hair) in the office who helped with
some last minute items, an additional table, some chairs
and a wireless microphone. I also wanted to thank our server
(brunette with a slight accent) who brought additional coffee,
pastries and chairs as well. She was cheerful and very helpful
even though this was probably more work than she had expected.
They both did a great job and helped us cope with the additional
people. Please let them know that their effort was noticed
and appreciated.
Institute Professor’s dinner at the Faculty Club

This is a belated e-mail thanking you for all your help with
the May 12 Institute Professors Dinner. Everything looked
great, and went smoothly. We had a good turnout and a very
enjoyable evening. You were right to stick to your vision
of the flower colors -- your vision was perfect!

Cambridge Youth Hockey Banquet held at Walker Memorial

Dear Ivy, Thank you, thank you for working with the Cambridge
Public Library and Children’s Literature New England,
Inc. to make such a lovely celebration for Maurice Sendak.
It was a big event for us and everything was just right thanks
to your patience, creative ideas and problem solving (down
to the last minute) the breakfast, lunches and reception
were all what we needed and appreciated. It was a pleasure

Materials Processing Meeting at the Faculty Club

Hey Heather! Yesterday proved to be an extremely successful
day (meeting and surrounding wise). Our consortium member
companies were delighted with their surroundings and I'm
sure they'll clamor for this for future meetings. My boss,
who raised an eyebrow, but said it was a good decision that
was made moving it from Wong Auditorium to the Faculty Club. "Important" individuals
were at the meeting. It was well worth it. The set-up, staff,
service, food, ... great! Thanks to all for taking such good
care of us.
Libraries Department Luncheon

Hi Heather! We received glowing praise today for the wonderful
food. Thanks for working with us on the creative menu. EVERYTHING was
delicious and the presentation was wonderful. Thanks too for responding

MATE-ROV Competition

Hi Heather! As I told you on the phone, the food was absolutely
delicious! All of the participants kept commenting how
delicious and filling the lunches were, and how the banquet
- especially the desserts! - Were superb. (I will be dieting
for the next several months!) Your staff members were terrific!
Please pass a word of "thanks" on to them as
well. If we do ever have this competition at MIT again,
you WILL be getting a call. :-)

-- elegant, delicious --- great!! I just hope the staff
was not too miffed at our finishing 1/2 hour late... (many
awards to distribute!) Please thank them for me/us at their

MIT Catering Lunch Delivery

Heather, What a nice luncheon today! I looked briefly at the
menu and wanted you to know it looks FANTASTIC! One of my bosses
is kind of "fussy" about his monthly luncheon and
wanted something other than plain old boring sandwiches (actually
wanted a hot lunch) but it was difficult because there are
usually only about 8 people and the menu for lunches looks
exactly like what he would like, something a little "exotic" if
you will to break away from just boring plan sandwiches.
I will be thrilled to use MIT Catering (it makes my life easier!)
and look forward to working with you when they "come at
me" with events/food orders.
Anything to make my life easier and not break the bank so to
speak. The prices even look extremely reasonable! Great job!
Tell the Chef's you've got my business! Talk to you again soon.

I worked with Liz Daly on our catering needs for 8:30 this
morning, and she did a wonderful job. Everything turned out
really well. Professor Oppenheim had this to say: "The
meeting was a smashing success and the food was perfect." So, kudos to Liz and the MIT catering staff for their assistance

Unexpected MIT Catering Delivery to Chemical Engineering
February 7, 2003
I just wanted to take a second of your time to praise the
excellent service I received from Liz Daly today. Under ordinary
circumstances, your organization would prefer orders in advance,
but today Professor Cooney had unexpected visitors. Under
harried circumstances, I called in my order and pleaded for
a noon delivery, knowing full well that I gave you folks
absolutely no advance warning. I was assured the meals would
arrive on time. Then, I was asked if lunch could be delivered
before noon, and I called Liz and asked if lunch could be
arrive earlier. She said she would do what she could. The
long and short of it is that lunch arrived on time, despite
the inclement weather and despite the hazardous driving situation.
I am grateful to Liz and your organization for “going
the extra mile” under adverse circumstances and with
such short notice. Thanks!

Everything thing worked out so beautifully! The cocktail
reception was a hit at the Faculty Club. It was an evening
