about food @ MIT

MIT Campus Dining employs an unique and flexible model in delivering meal options to the community. Students, faculty members and staff can obtain food in three basic ways:

  1. By eating in one of our MIT Campus Dining locations
  2. By eating off campus or getting food deliveries from local restaurants
  3. By cooking or “brown bagging” meals

Most often, the choices above are combined to make up a person’s dining profile. Directly or indirectly, MIT Campus Dining seeks to support all aspects of this profile: Institute facilities offer a variety of menus, operating hours and locations, convenience/grocery stores offer supplies for those who cook and meal program offerings are flexible to prevent budget strain.

While meal plans do not exist, students may enroll in House Dining Membership to help defray some meal costs.
