Welcome
I am a student in the Department of Aeronautics &
Astronautics at the Massachusetts Institute
of Technology, currently pursuing my M.S. degree in the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence
Lab, where I work in the Model-based
Embedded and Robotic Systems group under Professor
Brian Williams. I was born in Changchun city in norheastern China, the
nation's automotive capital. After moving to the United States with my family
at age five, I grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan, near the automotive capital of
America. I decided that spacecraft was more exciting than automobiles, so I
attended MIT for undergraduate study, and received my B.S. in the Department
of Aeronautics & Astronautics in 2005. After completing my graduate
research, I plan to go to Mars.
Current News
| Sept. 06 | The new school year has started up again. I am taking no courses officially, but am sitting in on some undergraduate courses to review for Quals in January. Research is now in full swing. I am approaching intent recognition from the perspective of continuous plan recognition, blending temporal plan networks with control action flow tubes. I just sent my advisor my research problem formulation -- hopefully he will like it. |
| July 06 | Traveled to China with my family and Thomas. My extended family kept exclaiming that he was "sooo tall, and sooo hairy, and has such biggg feet!" They loved him. We ate a lot of good and rather interesting food... visited many awesome places, and took many pictures! |
| Summer 06 | Worked at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute for the summer. The Institute is located right on the beach, in fog and artichoke capital of California. I worked on Autonomous Underwater Vehicles, and had the chance to go on several boat trips. I lived with the other interns, who were all very awesome. Of course, all the excitement and fun has been documented in photographs. |
| June 06 | The MIT Concert Choir went to Switzerland! We stayed with the members of the Swiss choir, and they are absolutely wonderful people. Switzerland is a beautiful country. We were in Lausanne for the most part, and gave two concerts with the Swiss choir in the Lausanne Cathedral -- a most ethereal place. During the first concert, the President of Switzerland attended and gave a speech! |
| Feb. 4, 06 | We had our engagement party, and made a scrapbook depicting the events that led to our engagement. |
| Dec. 16, 05 | Thomas Coffee proposed! |
