COMPONENT TIMELINE POTENTIAL DATA PARTICIPATION
EBI/ACUHO-I Survey Conducted late Spring 2002 Mostly for comparision with future surveys/trends. Comments on what students valued most/least in their residential experience, information about overall satisfaction with components of the residential experience, and information about student perception of the relationships that exist among residents in their buildings. Additionally, the survey provides some feedback on resident perceptions of FSILGs. 37% of students living in an undergradute residence hall.
Summer Lottery Feedback Questions Conducted mid-June during on-line summer lottery submission by first-year students. Information has been processed. Evaluation of publications and other opportunities to learn about the residence system/options. Students were asked to rate the usefulness of forms of information, as well as the importance of various criteria in their decision-making process. Varied by question. Of 22 Questions, 16 had at least 800 respondents. Remaining four had at least 646.
Orientation Adjustment Lottery Feedback Questions Conducted during Orientation week during on-line orientation adjustment lottery submission by first-year students. Information received; will be processed by end of September. Evaluation of publications and other opportunities to learn about the residence system/options. Students were asked to rate the usefulness of Residence Orientation programs, the importance of various criteria in their decision-making process (for comparision with summer data), how welcomed they felt in their initial assignment, and were asked for general feedback of the whole process. Varied by question. Of 22 Questions, 19 had at least 500 respondents. Remaining 3 had at least 403. Note: 751 students were eligible to enter lottery.
ACE national higher education survey (given to first-year students across the US) Conducted last morning of Orientation. Question related to students' "best guess" about if they will join an FSILG. Institute-specific questions were asked about the usefulness of various components in the residence selection process in making a decision. Approx. 50% of first-year students. Provost's office to mail survey to remaining.
Orientation Leader Feedback Form End of Orientation Open ended question to gather information about the initial move-in process. 95 of 99 Orientation Leaders completed form
Deans' Office Survey and Focus Group on First-Year Experience Late-October/early-November General academic and community issues as Deans' Offices put more focus on improving the first-year experience. RSIT has opportunity to submit questions, etc. TBD

Academic Feedback/Information ?? ARC is formulating and rolling out process for gathering feedback about academic performance information on first-year students from professors and advisors (as they do annually). Will include data on fifth-week flags. ??
