Message:: Hi, I need some help soon! Jan. 7 I will play the piano for my bro-in-law's masonic installation. I have done many Job's, Rainbow and Star installations but none in the last 20 years - and I don't recall ever even attending a Masonic installation. Can anyone give me some advice? I will attend a practice the night before, but need to bring music from my home (out of town) so have to know what to bring. Is it similar to the others, i.e., marching in music, flag music (SSBanner sing?), chaplain music, escort music? That's all I can think of. Is "pop" music okay or should it be more "march" music? Thanks for any help!

Mozart opera "Cosi fan tutti" and note that, like his opera "The Magic Flute" (Zauberflotte), there are many references to his connection with the Mason's and that he used many parrallels in these operas, including numbers and pairs of numbers. [Webmaster's Note: if you want to see a good sampling of rituals in English, my personal recommendation is to obtain these: -- Emulation - a very well-known working, common in the UGLE -- Universal - another widespared UGLE ritual -- Preston-Webb - most USA workings are descended from this. You will need to probably need to consult a grand lodge librarian or other knowledgeable person in your jurisdiction for help locating thise. Also I'm not sure what ritual workings are most common in Scotland, another ancient grand lodge working in English.

Among them at least one Mason, who was the owner of a volume of Prestons "Illustrations of Masonry", the leatherbind of which has been found toge-ther with many other items in the wreck of St. Georges, which items are exhibited in a museum in Thorsminde, Jutland.
