I'm personally really glad that such a thing exists, because there are *so* many other groups specific to *something* that it's good (IMO) that there is a group specific to what I think of simply as good men. There are more than enough women-only groups that I'm not even remotly bothered by this being (at least in part) a men-only group. ('in part' because women can go to what appear to be 'open' meetings)

Message:: For most of my 38 years, I have strove to learn as many trades possible to satisfy my desire to learn and because I was raised under the belief that selfsufficiency was part of being a man. Having joined the military at 17, I missed the opportunity to go to colledge and currently have only limited formal education beyond high school. However, I have managed to reach a level of intelegence that makes it relatively easy to compete with those having the advantage of four or more years of education beyond high school. I have found however, that my views on subjects such as loyalty to my country, religion, work ethic and my constant desire to learn more, have left me feeling somewhat alone. most of my peers believe that religion is something that should be forced upon thier children and followed without question. I have also been told that a man without a formal education is worthless. This coming from a man that had earned his PHD, yet could not perform a simple repa! ir on a toilet. (he hired me for the repair work). I would like the opportunity to speak with someone about becoming a freemason. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Message:: I have a question, I am an apprentice, as a matter of fact I had my Initiation two days ago, because the ceremony had to many things to grasp, I forgot to ask one important question that maybe ypu or any other brother would help me with. I know all normal lodges have 3 degrees, apprentice, companion and master mason, and the third degree is the highest degree of mason, meaning that a 32nd degree mason of the scottish rite or any mason with a high degree in the York rite doesnt have a higher position than any master mason. My question is, after I get to be a master mason and then I want to follow the scottish or the York rite do I have to also go to a different meeting beside my weekly meeting with my brothers of my lodge? I have anotherone, as you may recall I am an apprentice, someone who find out I am beginning my training gave me a book, which is called "The black book of freemasonry" it is written by a man named Serge Raymaud de la Ferriere, in the book he says he is a worshipfull master. Have you read this book? Do you know who Serge Raymaud de la Ferriere is?, This is because I didnt like what the book says, its full of things totally opposite to what brothers have teach me, specially a part which says there are only a few chosen in masonry which are given the true knowledge of it, and it has this really weird story of how masonry was form like 4000 years ago by europeans who then migrated to the east, and that some of the simbols were changed. As I told you I am sure this is pure fiction, but I really want to know if this guy was really a mason, and if he was why did he wrote a book like this. Thank you brother

Message:: I have recently stumbled upon some of my familys war medals and was researching some of them. One of particular interest was that of my great, great grandfathers war medals. I understand that he was a Freemason himself (I suspect he was of the Dornie lodge of Scotland) however the medal itself consists of a Freemason predominent symbol along with details such as "Fac Et Spera", "Lodge. "The Gael 609". It is dated at 25th of November 1898. If anybody has any information regarding this medal or can point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.
