Hey, What is Scottish Rite?

Tons of questions on them this week. Were you watching that Learning Channel nonsense?

The Scottish Rite is an affiliated Masonic "side body" with their own degrees and ceremonies.

  • They're not the Knights Templar, though they do have a degree named for the Templars. (Heck, I have a friend named George Washington Jones, but that doesn't mean he's president of the United States, right?)
  • They're not the Skull & Bones Club, either. That's a Yale frat for boys with rich important fathers and a taste for grave-robbing.

You can read more about the Scottish Rite at the Pointers section of my website.
