i am sure you all get this question on a regular basis, but i am a bit worried that my father is taking part in becoming an active free-mason, seeing all the rumors out there in regards to the free-masons being linked with satanic cults and rituals.

obviously i can expect an answer falling along the lines of "we're not tied in with those types of rituals", but understand that i am very concerned for my father. could you please send me some information regarding freemasonry and what you all believe in?

thank you.

I understand your concern. If you return to my web-site, you will see that I have posted more than 25Mb of information about Masonry, including many essays on What is Masonry and what we believe, as well as pointers to an excellent site about "anti-Masons" and why they say the things we do.

There is absolutely nothing "satanic" about Masonry, and those that say otherwise are usually selling something (or just occasionally certifiably and literally insane).

The biggest problem in Masonry is the number of lodges that don't teach their own candidates enough about what Masonry is, so that many new Masons don't know what to tell their families except "it's all secret" -- which it isn't.

I hope you'll take a good look at the info on the web-site. You should be proud that your father is a Mason, and you should ask him about it, and if he doesn't know all that much, then he should ask more questions in lodge and take a look around this web-site himself.

Thanks for writing.
