Letter of the month: September 1999

A true story:
My father was a Mason in Rockford, IL. When he passed away, I tried
to prepare my young sons for the events that would take place on the day
of the funeral: funeral, burial, luncheon, back home with family. Just
after we were seated in the front row at the funeral home, three Masons
wearing "aprons" walked to the front of the room. My seven year old son
leaned over and asked excitedly, "Mom, are those the guys that are
fixing lunch?" Grandpa would have been tickled!
