I was just appointed by the incoming Grand Master to be the District
Grand Lecturer of our District. I recently had meetings with the newly
installed Worshipful Masters of the District and it seems that one of
their concerns is how to encourage the brethren to arrive on time for
their stated meetings.
I would like to give a lecture on this matter during the lodge's
"masonic education hour" and I would appreciate it very much if you
could provide me any material that I could use for my lecture.
Thank you.

Message:: Why do Masons wear Black and White to Lodge meetings? and
is there a history of why they do?
[Web-master's note:
Here in Massachusetts our lodge officers wear formal "dinner jackets"
a/k/a tuxedo with white shirt and black tie, because it is the most
formal kind of evening wear that most people own. (Almost nobody owns
white tie and tails :-)
The other lodge members wear any kind of business suit or even tie and
jacket, not necessarily black and white at all.
For daytime events, the grand lodge officers wear a jacket with tails,
along with striped grey trousers, and a purple necktie (purple is the
color of the grand lodge).
The customs vary from place to place to place, as you can see.]
