RQFC Details: I am trying to determine if any of my ancestors were masonic - I have evidences that someone was (An Eastern Star Cookbook, etc.) The family name was Abney - namely Claude Abney, John Abney, Lord Willesley. Message:: Looking for Alexander Hamilton Willard, if he was a Freemason. Willard was a blacksmith on the Lewis and Clark Expedition.

RQFC Details: Lewis & Clark were Freemasons, and many of the member of the expedition were Freemasons. I am wanting to confirm is Alexander Hamilton Willard was a Freemason. This would answer the question as to why his life was spared at court martial on the trek.
