Message:: Greetings Bretheren, I am a recently raised M.M. and am very much interested in both York as well as Scottish degrees, as well as the Rites of Memphis and Mizraim. I undersatnd that the Scottish Rite degrees as given in most valleys in California seem to be only a handful of degrees over the course of a weekend. Isn't there some Lodge that offers the degrees one-at-a-time? I'm certain that I'm not alone in my inquiries, and do hope that some light may be shed on this seeming dilema. I have been activly reading Bro. Albert Pike's "Morals and Dogma", and I just can't help but thinking that there is more to the Scottish Rite than just "capping degrees", and by that I mean that it seems that the degrees of S.R. as given now, simply confer the zenith of the Lodge of Perfection, Rose Croix, Kaddosh, and Consistitory degrees, without any background/backbone. If any Brother can communicate any information that would help me, I would be most obliged, thank you
RQFC-topic: Individual Scottish Rite Degrees
RQFC Details: As stated above, I am interested in any lodges that confer all 32 degrees of scottish rite freemasonry, and not the seeming truncated "zenith" degrees of the Lodge of Perfection, Rose Croix, Kaddosh, and Consistory, and would must appreciate any corespendence regarding the location of a lodge that offers such, thank you

Message:: Through my genealogical research I have recently received an obit for Mr. Joseph K. Palmer of Elsberry, MO. It is dated 25 Sep 1936. It states he was a member of the Elsberry, Lincoln, Missouri Chapter and later affiliated with the Masonic Scottish Rite of St. Louis. The obit states "Rites in the cemetery were conducted by...J. W. Skelley, Grand Master; Anthony F. Ittner, Past Grandmaster & Grand Lecturer; and, William Brockmeyer, Official Tyler. This is the 3965th Masonic funeral in which Mr. Brockmeyer has participated." Joseph K. Palmer's 2nd wife was Minnie Rebecca (Callaway) Trescott, Palmer a past worthy matron of the OES Elsberry Chapter. I'm looking for a photo of Joseph or if his surviving children became Masons, I request that my information be passed on the them. Any help is greatly appreciated, Lori Z.

RQFC-topic: Establishment of Filipino Grand Lodge
RQFC Details: I am very glad to have discovered this web site which I know could help me in my research for the benefit of the Lodge and the brethren. I am a member of a newly created Research and Information Center of the Lodge and assigned to me for research is about the attempt of Filipino Masons during Spanish and American regime in the Philippines to establish a Grand Lodge run by Filipino Masons. We have learned that during the early years of Freemasonry in the Philippines, Filipino Masons were not allowed to visit any Foreign Lodges established in the country. It is therefore the will and pleasure of the early Filipino Masons who were raised in different jurisdiction to establish one under the direct supervision of a Filipino Masons. Some of our research shows that sometimes in 1893 MW Ambrocio Flores established or attempted to establish the Grand Regional Council of the Philippines and in 1899, three years after the Philippine Revolution against Spain there was agai!
n an attempt to establish Filipino Grand Orient. It will in deed a great pleasure and privilege if you could help us in our researh to find out how, when and where the GL was established particularly the personalities involved which we considered heroes of Philippine Masonry and the real truth what really induced the Filipino Masons to establish a Grand Lodge and why it didn't succeed. We'll be waiting for your utmost reply. Thank you so much. F/Bro. Ric

Message:: Greetings Masons. I am not a mason myself, but I have a Knight Templar sword, and would like to contact, if possible, Elroy G. Curtis, or his descendants. The sword was purchased from a pawn shop in Oakland, CA. in the mid 1960's. It is a master masons sword of the York Rite, 13'th degree. The sword is very precious to me, and I will only consider giving it to Mr. Curtis, or his descendants. My own grandfather was a master mason of the york rite, and his sword is lost, so serious enquiries only please. I can provide a picture for anyone with information leading me to the proper Curtis family. My sincere thanks for your time, -Jon R.W. Carleton

RQFC-topic:
RQFC Details: Masonic (genealogical) research request -- I am not familiar with records or papers kept by the Masons, but I am seeking information about a Matthew Creighton (my gggggrandfather). Matthew is said to have come to the then-frontier of western Louisiana about 1810 "carrying papers "from the Blue Lodge of Baltimore". We think he may have been from the Eastern Shore, but can find no evidence of him or his wife Polly Turpin Jacobs there. Is there any record of a Matthew (or Mathew) Creighton (or Crayton, Cretin, etc.) in any records kept by the Maryland Masons? Would I be likely to find records in Louisiana? (assuming that there might have eventually been a Lodge for him to join.) thank you
