Message:: The late l5th century poem "Hypnerotomachia" (originally in
vernacular Italian with a little Greek and Latin mixed in) seems to
contain several Masonic references comparable to those in "The Magic
Flute". For example, the hero is pursued by a dragon at the beginning
of both works, and also has to choose among three portals. Does anyone
know of research on Masonic influence on or by the "Hypnerotomachia"?
Does anyone know of a complete English translation? Thanks very much.

because of Masonic ideals I have return to the Catholic Church after 30

Message:: GENEALOGY: Do records exist that would establish membership in the freemasonry and show parental linkage? If so, can you give me a contact person or group? My great-great-great-great grandfather George Washington Bartlett was a stonemason by trade. I strongly suspect he was also a member of the freemasonry. Family stories link George with Josiah Bartlett, signer of the Declaration of Independence. He was born in either New Hampshire, Massachusetts, or Vermont in the 1800's. This would make him a grandson of Josiah if the stories are true.
GENDER: Does Eastern Star have an internet access or do the women communicate on the Freemason lists? What is the history/reason behind the separation of the sexes? How much integration exists now and what do you predict in the future? Are the degrees and teachings the same for men and women? I see that there is a youth organization for little girls called the Rainbow Girls. What about little boys?

RQFC-topic: Information for New Master Masons
Message:: I am working on compling a list of information to be given to newly raised master masons. We all know how volumous the masonic written word can be. I would like to create a document that would be clear and concise of things a new master mason should know or be aware of. Information which, in some statements would answer questions about the fraternity and others which would generate interest which would cause the reader to seek out additional information either through the his lodge, books or a knowledgeable brothern. Information which go's one step beyond a coachs manual or thoughts on what a new master mason should be considering, information he should know about the fraternity to help perpare him for his journey within the craft. I would like this information in short "bullet type" statements, i.e. one or two line statements. An example; How do I know or recognize another mason when I travel to other locations. Please think of your own situation after being newly raised a master mason and what were the questions you had and what were the answers you received. Thank you in advance for any and all assistance.

Message:: United Grand Lodge of Queensland (UGLQ),unlike other Australian State Grand Lodges permits member lodges which were working under Scottish or Irish constitution before final unification in 1921 to work according to their original Constitutions. Consequently, one can visit lodges working standard UGLQ ritual one night and the next, a lodge working a variation of Scottish ritual; it can be very interesting. Do any other jurisdictions have a similar situation for the "blue lodge" working?
