Message:: Hello, brothers! First, my compliments on a very comprehensive set of web pages and some excellent links! Keep up the good work! Second, and more prosaically, I am travelling to Cuba on March 4, 1996 and possibly on Feb. 18 as well (long story). Having only been a Master Mason since November, I did not make any enquiries on any of my last two trips to Cuba about Masonry in that country. Do you know, or is there anywhere to which you can point me to find out, whether there are any lodges in Cuba? I would be very interested in seeing how Masons conduct themselves in that wonderful country with its disgusting government. Sincerely and fraternally, Raffi Balmanoukian, M.M. RQFC-topic: Story about a know-it-all master of a lodge.
Message:: I recall reading a fiction story in a Masonic book about a know-it-all Master of a lodge. The members played a practical joke on him. A couple of members got dressed up in women's clothing an made themselves visable to the Master as he came into the lodge one evening. During a degree, a noise was heard in a closet in the lodgeroom. To the Master's surprise, it was the ladies. He was perplexed as what to do. The brothers had the last laugh. End. That is my best recollection. Does anyone know where that came from. Thanks and fraternally yours.

I'm a teaching assistant in the University of Lausanne and I'm writing a dissertation in sociology of the religion on the relationships between protestantism and freemasonry in the french speaking part of Switzerland. I'm working on the following question: what means a protestant's membership of freemasonry ? I'd be interested in any bibliographic and/or historic informations about my subject. I'm also interested in informations on the attitudes toward freemasonry of the different protestant churches. If you have some informations for me, you can send me a mail. Thank you very much. PS: One last question : why don't sisters sign the guestbook ?

    RQFC-topic: Old Rituals
Message:: I am interested in obtaining copies of the old rituals of "side degrees" that were popular during the Civil War. I am particularly interested in one called the Mason's Wife (and daughter) degree. It was evidently popular here in the South.

    RQFC-topic: Genealogy information
Message:: Am looking for information on John James Cowie (my grandfather) who was a member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. He was a member of the King George Lodge #59 (in Calgary, AB, Canada?). He was born in Newcastle, County Down, Ireland on Oct. 8, 1894 and died in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on June 4, 1965. Any information would be more than welcome. Please email me at the above address if you have more information, or would like what little information I have on him. As always, thank you for your interest.
