M. L. Weinman, Past RWM
Past District Grand Steward, Grand Lodge of the Far East
[Web-editor's Note:: Classically, there are usually said to be Seven virtues:
Four "Cardinal" (or "natural") virtues: temperance, fortitude, prudence, justice
Three "Theological" virtues: faith, hope, charity
In Massachusetts ritual (and that is the only one I can speak of with authority) "The Perfect Points of your Entrance" relates the four Cardinal Virtues (temperance, fortitude, prudence, justice) to various things you experienced during your reception, obligation, and instruction as an Entered Apprentice. By relating them to things you did or experienced during the degree, it is supposed to make it easier for you to remember the Cardinal virtues, what they mean, and why they are important.
You should ask your lodge's instructors about this for more detail.
(By the way, just so you know "elude" means "hide from, evade, escape detection". "Allude" means "refer to indirectly". In the ritual, we make reference to the Perfect Points, we don't evade them. :-)]
