    Message:: My great grandfather Samuel Calander was a 33rd degree Mason in Philadelphia, and apparently took his 33rd in Scotland, according to my now deceased aunt. If anyone has any information on him, I would appreciate it. I believe he rebelled against his very Catholic family (after the Quo Graviora Bull of Pope Leo XII was published), who berated him vehemently for being a Mason. His will left nothing to his family except his wife and daughter, with the remainder of his estate being left to the Lodge. I do not even know his occupation.
